Welcome to Kindergarten!
My name is Mary Espinosa and I am the Kindergarten teacher here at Our Lady of Peace. I grew up here in the valley and attended St. Euphrasia in Granada Hills and Bishop Alemany High School. I continued on to attend Cal State Northridge as a part of the Integrated Teacher Education Program (ITEP). I graduated from CSUN in 2016 with my Bachelors Degree in Liberal Studies and my Teaching Credential. I was very blessed to find my job here and join the OLP family last year.
I am so thrilled to have the opportunity to work with you and your child this year! Our goal is to make sure each student is successful in Kindergarten both socially and academically. Kindergarten is an exciting time where your child will transition into reading and writing over the course of the school year. One of the keys to a successful school year will be the collaboration between student, parents, and the teacher. Keeping the learning going at home by helping and encouraging your child is absolutely essential! Please be sure to practice letter names and sounds as well as reading stories to your child as much as possible.
We are going to have a fantastic school year and I cannot wait to work together for the success of each student! If you ever have and questions or concerns please don't hesitate to come in and talk with me or send me an email! My door is always open!
